Writing is Illuminating
Examine your thoughts.
Hey friend
Welcome to 200 Word Tuesdays. Where we give you short, actionable ideas to implement in your project management. We promise that you haven’t heard these powerful ideas anywhere else.
Let’s get started.
There’s a simple truth I’ve come to know over the years.
Writing is illuminating.
When I sit down to write (whether it’s a quick note or a deeper reflection) I find myself examining my thoughts in ways I wouldn’t otherwise.
It’s like holding up a mirror to my mind; helping me understand what I’m really thinking and feeling.
By the time I’m done, I feel more clarity.
And often, the way forward feels clearer too.
👋 Sponsored message: “If you can’t remember the last time your family talked about something deeper than logistics, this challenge is for you. Join the 14-Day Family Goal Visibility Challenge and get everything you need to make your family’s goals visible and facilitate meaningful dinner check-ins. By the end of two weeks, you’ll have made progress on a goal, and your family will feel more connected. Join the free Feb 1st cohort [familygoalchallenge.figma.site] with other families refusing to drift.”
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure, try this: take five minutes to write about it.
Write about it.
No structure or perfection needed, just your thoughts on paper.
I think you’ll be surprised at how much it helps.
Do this in you personal and professional life.
While others are floundering, you will feel stillness and find direction.
See you next week,
Jonathan
😎 I’ve been implementing the Amazon 6 Pager Memo with my team over the past year. Jeff Bezos uses it extensively and it’s helped me get more out of meetings. And not waste so much time. Because the fewer meetings the better. So I made a template. Check out the Amazon 6-Pager Memo template.
