Hey friend
Welcome to 200 Word Tuesdays. Where we give you short, actionable ideas to implement in your project management. We promise that you haven’t heard these powerful ideas anywhere else. Let’s get started.
Life Coach Brooke Castillo gives us an interesting way to distinguish between our problems.
And solve them.
When faced with challenges, it’s important to distinguish between “math problems” and “drama problems” to solve them effectively.
Math problems are logical and objective. They involve concrete data, clear variables, and strategies for resolution.
For instance, if your goal is to improve sales, a math-based approach would analyze conversion rates, traffic sources, and customer behaviors. Solutions might include optimizing your website, improving organic traffic, or tweaking your pricing strategy.
These problems are solved through analysis and actionable steps.
Drama problems, on the other hand, are rooted in emotions, misunderstandings, or interpersonal dynamics.
They are often subjective and can derail logical thinking. For example, anxiety about failing or frustration with team dynamics can cloud decision-making.
Drama problems don’t have straightforward solutions because they require addressing feelings, perspectives, and communication issues.
By categorizing challenges as math or drama, you can approach them more effectively.
Focus on addressing math problems with data-driven strategies and tackle drama problems by acknowledging emotions and fostering clear communication.
This distinction allows you to channel your energy productively, fostering growth and achieving better outcomes.
See you next week,
